Rio Tinto – Industrial & Corporate Reportage Photography
In 2017, Jason was commissioned by Rio Tinto to produce a body of photography that captured the pioneering spirit of the company’s employees, operations, and materials, and to communicate the broader theme of human progress. The brief called for imagery that was both inspiring and emotive, while grounded in the authenticity of real people and real environments.
Through a cinematic, reportage-led approach, Jason documented the mine-to-market story, highlighting the scale of Rio Tinto’s global operations while keeping the human element at the centre. From vast industrial landscapes to portraits of the workforce, the resulting photography provides a narrative that situates the company’s critical role in the modern world.
The images have been used across corporate reports, sustainability communications, and brand storytelling projects, ensuring Rio Tinto’s visual identity reflects both the ambition of the organisation and the human contribution behind its success.
