I’m proud to share that my portrait of Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, has been added to the collection at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C., as part of the Portrait of a Nation Prize.

I was commissioned to photograph Jamie for Bloomberg in 2023 — a rare opportunity to capture one of the most influential and enduring figures in global finance. His leadership has shaped the U.S. economy in the years following the financial crisis and influenced policy far beyond it. The exhibition celebrates him alongside Temple Grandin, Joy Harjo and Steven Spielberg whose portraits now join this prestigious collection.
As I write, I’m in Washington, having just attended the Gala marking the addition of the portrait to the gallery — an extraordinary evening honouring the diverse achievements of this year’s recipients.

When I made the portrait back in 2023, working under the familiar pressures of time and expectation, I aimed simply to create something honest and human. I couldn’t have imagined then what that image would come to represent. For Jamie, it’s a fitting tribute to a visionary career. For me, it’s a lasting record of my craft — now held in one of the world’s most esteemed institutions.
