But as it happens, yes, I really did have a picture in The Press Photographers Year\u2026.(arts section)<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nI felt like one of those hapless fools on X factor. The truth is, I hadn\u2019t been sure which category to put the picture in when I entered the competition, so it could have potentially won the sport action section\u2026 although, on reflection, probably not.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonalden.com\/index.php\/2010\/08\/31\/x-photo-2\/ppy-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-748\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jasonalden.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/ppy1-420x302.jpg\" alt=\"My Photo at The National Theatre\" title=\"My Photo at The National Theatre\" width=\"420\" height=\"302\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-748\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nTo be honest, I never really saw the point in photography competitions, how can you judge something so subjective\u2026 That said, I\u2019d never done well in one and on opening night at the exhibition I felt a bit more comfortable with my glass of wine and photo on the wall.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe PPY is a competition organised in conjunction with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thebppa.com\">British Press Photographers Association<\/a>. Having one of my pictures in the final edit meant that it was included on the PPY\u2019s annual and got in the exhibition held at the National Theatre. A top guy and a fantastic exhibition.
